BRITISH INVASION

October 8, 2016

The city of Boston and surrounding sudo-suburbs, such as Wellesley and JP, are having an invasion of the Brits! The well-to-do coffee establishment of Cafe Nero is taking over street by street in the small metropolitan capital. What to know about the new coffee shop? Cafe Nero was started back in 1997 by British gentleman looking to create that old world feel for a cafe, with high quality coffee and a friendly/welcoming staff. Cafe Nero, being the Italian work for black coffee, was such a big hit back home in the UK it went worldwide in 2007, opening up locations all over Europe. In 2014 it reached the states and has been flooding boston streets with its blue cups and tasty espresso drinks.

How does Nero differ from say Starbucks or Dunki’s, well to start they focus on the bean, the secret coffee blend that is brewed to perfection. The intimate staff that engages each customer with a smile and a polite genuine greeting. The atmosphere of the interior of each Nero varies just a little between each location. The furnishing all look to be from one’s grandfather’s house yet with a touch of modern farm house. The chairs are comfortable to lounge in and get lost in a good book. While the community tables are inviting and offer a great spot to sit and meet a friend while taking a break from the office. Each interior has an architectural aspect to its decor, being exposed beams or brick. This style gives the customer a feeling of content and exception. My favorite location so far is the Wellesley cafe, located off of Rt. 16 and the T station, this Nero is in a historical building, being the old train station for the commuter rail. Its awe worthy!

So yes, take out that macbook pro and camp out for a few hours! That’s what they want, enjoy your soy vanilla latte while cruising the internet on the complimentary wifi. Good food, good atmosphere and good coffee! I say, welcome Cafe Nero and thanks for the consistently good  experiences.
