MFA TRIP + @dontstopjoy

November 5, 2016

On Friday I had the pleasure to have a museum trip with my good friend, Emily. We met in the atrium of the MFA on a cloudy day and ordered up some coffee, while we surveyed the map and planned out of tour. It was my first time stepping into The Americas Wing, after living away in NYC for the past couple of years. So Emily was excited to show me what it had to offer. Knowing my background of architectural and design studies, I was eager to see the furnishings of 18th Century.

We were both immensely impressed with the curation the mfa had put on. Each room, flowing into the next scene, complementing all types of art, artifacts and furnishings from relevant periods. One feature I couldn’t get over was the color theory selected for each installations. Tastefully bold yet refined by the objects being displayed.

I would love to know the paint colors and brands chosen!  Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, or Farrow and Ball? Regardless the brand name, if you are looking for inspiring color palettes for you home, take a trip to the MFA or your local city’s art museum and it will open your perspective.
